The room

One room, and nothing in it.

Everything here exists to keep the frame empty until you decide what goes in it. The cove has no corners, the ceiling gives you daylight for free, and the floor is yours alone for the length of your booking.

The cove, empty and freshly repainted. This is how every booking starts.

Light

Daylight, the full length of the ceiling.

The skylight runs the whole span of the grid, which means the cove is lit evenly and softly from above for most of the working day. A great many bookings here never switch a light on.

When you want the opposite, the floor blacks out completely. Ceiling track spots and rigging points let you build the light from nothing, which is what the cinema and controlled-light work tends to need.

Power is three-phase and backed up, so HMIs and heavy strobe packs are not a conversation.

Everything else

The unglamorous list.

None of this is why you book a studio, and all of it is why a day runs on time.

  • Hair, make-up and changing room with a lit mirror
  • Client lounge with seating for eight
  • Blackout capability for controlled-light and cinema work
  • Wi-Fi, tethering desk and monitor
  • Kitchenette, filtered water, unit tea
  • Ground-level drive-in loading
  • Washroom on the floor
  • Air conditioning across the shooting floor

Before you book

Questions people actually ask.

What exactly is a cyclorama?

A cove that curves where the floor meets the wall, and again at both side walls, so there is no visible corner anywhere in frame. Light falls off into nothing and your subject reads as if they are standing in empty space. It is the one thing you cannot fake in post at this scale.

Is the cyc repainted between shoots?

Touch-ups are included between bookings. If your production scuffs the cove badly, or you shoot with heavy props, vehicles or liquids, add a full repaint at the time of booking so the next production isn't inheriting your day.

Can we paint or gel the cyc a different colour?

Yes, with notice. Colour work is quoted separately because it needs a repaint back to white afterwards. Ask us before you lock your call sheet.

Do you provide lighting and grip?

The room comes with ceiling track spots and full daylight. Strobes, continuous lights, modifiers, stands and C-stands are add-ons — pick them at checkout, or bring your own kit at no charge.

What are your hours, and what counts as overtime?

Half day is four hours, full day is nine. Bump-in and bump-out sit inside your block, so build your call sheet accordingly. Overtime runs at the hourly rate, billed in half-hour increments.

Can we shoot video and cinema here?

That is half of what the room is for. The floor blacks out for controlled-light and slow cinema work, power is three-phase and backed up, and the ceiling grid takes rigging.

How do I hold a date?

Book online and the slot is held the moment payment clears. Dates move once, free, up to 72 hours before your call time.
